Texas Africa Chamber of Commerce Partners with USAEF to Drive U.S.-Africa Energy Investment

The Texas Africa Chamber of Commerce (TXACC) – the leading organization dedicated to promoting trade, investment and diplomatic relations between Texas and African nations and companies – has signed on as a strategic partner to the U.S.-Africa Energy Forum (USAEF) in Houston. The collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between U.S. investors and Africa's dynamic energy sector, providing unparalleled opportunities for growth and development.

Established to strengthen Texas-Africa relations, TXACC serves as a central hub for members of the African diaspora, business leaders and government officials. The Chamber's mission focuses on creating opportunities for economic empowerment, expanding trade and building robust diplomatic ties between Texas and Africa. In November 2024, TXACC organized a trade mission to Malawi, Zambia and Burkina Faso, exploring collaboration opportunities across sectors such as ICT, infrastructure, mining, telecommunications, energy and agriculture. Additionally, the Chamber has hosted forums with African dignitaries, including a meeting with Angolan President João Lourenço in May 2024, and was a key partner in the inaugural edition of USAEF in 2021.

Under the partnership, TXACC will leverage its extensive network and expertise to connect U.S. investors with Africa's most promising energy opportunities. Houston, as a global energy capital, has long been a hub for innovation and investment, making it the ideal location for fostering connections between American stakeholders and Africa’s rapidly growing energy sector. The event provides a critical platform for strengthening ties between the two continents, as both regions seek to collaborate on sustainable energy solutions and drive economic growth, creating mutually beneficial opportunities for energy investment and development.

“TXACC's dedication to enhancing trade and investment between Texas and Africa, along with its strategic initiatives in the energy sector, makes it an invaluable partner for USAEF. We are thrilled to have them on board again, with the ties between Houston and Africa growing stronger as both regions collaborate on driving innovation and investment in the energy sector,” said James Chester, CEO of Energy Capital & Power.
