Steinar began his career in 1988 holding various engineering roles in Norway. From 1995 to 2004, he held staff and managerial positions at Phillips Petroleum’s headquarters in Oklahoma, in the UK and Norway. From 2004 to 2015, he was general manager of Heavy Oil Joint Ventures in Venezuela, managing director of ConocoPhillips Norway and president of ConocoPhillips Europe. From 2015 to 2020, he was senior vice president at ConocoPhillips’ headquarters in Houston, with global responsibility for several technical functions and supply chain. He assumed his current role in 2020. Steinar has a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering and a Master of Science in reservoir engineering.
